Suzzie Singleton, CFE, CGFM, is the Deputy Chief Investigator for the Mid East Region of the state for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury’s Division of Investigations. She supports the Comptroller’s mission of making government work better by helping a team of 7 investigate allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse in government and publicly-funded entities and by working closely with law enforcement and prosecutors on criminal allegations. She is an 18-year veteran of the office, having been an auditor with the Division of State Audit and Local Government Audit, and then transitioned to full-time investigator in 2009.
Suzzie also co-teaches Auditing for Fraud I and Investigative Interviewing for the Comptroller’s office and other state agencies. She is immediate Past President of the Middle Tennessee Association of Certified Fraud Examiners for the 2020-2021 fiscal year and a member of the Accounting Advisory Board of Middle Tennessee State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.
